Note: Please forward this annoucement to as many Native American people and organizations as possible.

The Oneida Nation Arts Program, a program within the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin, is pleased to announce a special grant: Public Art in Oneida, Wisconsin.
GOAL:
To bring a high quality, high visibility public work of art into the Oneida community that involves community participation through apprenticeships.
ELIGIBILITY:
Open to all artists, and special consideration will be given to any and all Iroquois artists: Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, Mohawk, and Tuscarora.
DEADLINE:
May 5, 2000
Proposals will include artist portfolio, thumbnail sketch, budget, and narrative ARTISTIC REQUIREMENTS:
2-D or 3-D; moveable; in or outdoor; not using a potentially dangerous mediums; created on site in Oneida.
PROPOSAL CRITERIA:
community involvement through an apprenticeship with both an elder and youth; working portfolio with resume, biography, artist statement, 10 slides with description; thumbnail sketch of the proposal piece; cultural significance; artist involvement in the community; budget.
AWARD:
A minimum of 2 weeks, maximum 4 weeks, residency in Oneida, Wisconsin, staying with host family. Artist Fee, transportation, and material costs not to exceed $3,125.
